Materials & Craft

We work with slow-grown bamboo in mountain regions, where altitude, rainfall, and changing seasons create fibers that are naturally strong, light, and remarkably flexible.

Rather than forcing the material into perfect uniformity, we preserve its natural texture, subtle variations, and quiet warmth—qualities that become more beautiful with time and use.

Every piece is then shaped by hand using bamboo weaving techniques refined over centuries. Whether woven around porcelain or formed entirely from bamboo, each object carries the character of both the material and the hands that made it.

Care Guide

The bamboo we choose is naturally strong — and finished to last.

No special rituals required. Just use it.

Wipe clean. Let it dry.

A quick wipe with a soft cloth is usually all it needs. For a deeper clean, hand wash gently with mild soap, then towel dry and let it air out completely.

A few simple things:

No dishwasher

No microwave

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight

Use it often — it will only get better with time.

Before The First Sip

Your morning begins before the first sip.

It lives in the small rituals that shape how you feel.

The soft light through the window.

The warmth between your hands.

A quiet pause before the world asks for your attention.

A Bamboo over Porcelain cup is not simply a vessel.

It is an object designed to slow the moment down.

Created with patience rather than produced in a hurry.

Some things are made to be replaced.

Others are made to be kept.

Made To Be Held

Beauty alone is not enough.

The objects we choose to live with should invite touch.

Run your fingers along the surface, and you feel a quiet conversation between two materials —

the natural warmth of bamboo meeting the smooth coolness of porcelain beneath.

Unlike the uninterrupted surface of ordinary porcelain, the woven bamboo exterior creates a layered tactile experience.

The natural rhythm of hand-shaped bamboo adds texture and character to every hold.

A grip that feels secure and naturally connected.

The bamboo layer also creates a gentle separation between your hands and a freshly poured cup,

allowing it to remain comfortable throughout.

Because everyday objects should not only serve a purpose.

They should change how a morning feels.

The Hours Inside Each Cup

Bamboo and porcelain have been paired for centuries —

not because they are similar, but because they complete each other.

One brings warmth and organic character.

The other brings clarity and refinement.

Together, they create a balance between precision and nature —

the foundation of Bamboo over Porcelain.

Days, Not Hours

Each piece follows a process that cannot be accelerated.

The bamboo is selected, prepared, and shaped to follow the natural curve of each porcelain form.

Every strip is woven by hand and placed with intention.

This is not decoration —

the bamboo becomes part of the object itself,

shaping how the cup feels and holds warmth.

The process takes days.

Not out of inefficiency,

but because some things are worth the time they take.

No Two Are Alike

Subtle variations in bamboo tone, texture, and weave are not imperfections —

they are proof that your cup was shaped by a person, not a machine.

Perfect uniformity is what machines produce.

What human hands create carries something different —

the time, attention, and intention that cannot be accelerated.

Made in small batches.

Chosen for a lifetime.

For Someone Who Has Everything

The hardest person to choose for is not the one who wants nothing.

It is the one who already has everything they need —

yet still appreciates something chosen with intention.

That moment of opening.

Lifting the lid.

Discovering an object that feels personal —

shaped slowly by human hands

and created with the patience of a craft passed through generations.

A gift chosen not because it is needed,

but because it means something.
